During the 22nd Arab-German Business Forum held on the 26th of June, in Berlin SGB-SMIT Group and El Nasr Transformers & Electrical Products Company (ELMACO) have signed a Co-operation and License Agreement.
Based on the agreement ELMACO will sell and produce SGB Cast Resin transformers for the Egyptian market. In the frame of the agreement SGB-SMIT Group will provide transformer designs specific to the technical requirements, assistance and training in setting up state of the art production and testing facilities in Badr city in the newly built factory of ELMACO. SGB-SMIT will also supply key transformer components from it’s european factories to ELMACO.
Start of production is expected in the last quarter of 2019, and full capacity to be reached during 2020.
This co-operation helps ELMACO to further diversify it’s existing transformer portfolio with Cast Resin transformers for the utility and private sectors. SGB-SMIT group is establishing a foothold on the Egyptian market for it’s Cast Resin transformer product.
The signature ceremony was witnessed by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Shaker El-Markabi, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Mr Mohammed H. El-Sisi, Chairman and Managing director of South Cairo Electricity Distribution Company.
