For 3 days, Regensburg’s Continental Arena was the venue for an active exchange of information and constructive talks with our suppliers from all over the world.
Cooperation on an equal footing, fair dealings with one another, mutual growth for a successful future and measurable results: these are a few of the targets applicable in the SGB-SMIT Group in the cooperation with our suppliers. Thus, SGB-SMIT organized the Supplier Days in Regensburg’s Continental Arena in February 2018 under the motto “Journey to Growth“. Its outcome has advanced our Group and the attending suppliers significantly - suppliers being selected with whom we intend to take the exacting route.
Overview of the program:
On the first day, the CEO Jan Ölscher and the individual Business Unit Managers presented the value proposition of SGB-SMIT Group as the most attractive partner in the market. Subsequently, Dr. Markus Honold spoke about our common journey to growth with our strategic partners. Moreover, three success stories of strategic cooperations with suppliers were presented, followed by the panel debate moderated by Ufuk Kivrak (Project Director within the SCM Team) “Value of strategic partnerships in shaping future trends of the transformer industry“.
The highlight of the day was the awarding of our supplier award “Golden Transformer”. Nine suppliers received awards for their special performance and for acting in the sense of our seven brand core values. At the top of the photo, we can see the award presentation to Mr. Johann Halbritter, Managing Director of the “Regensburger Werkstätten” whose exceptional contribution was acknowledged and appreciated by the well-deserved “Golden Transformer” awarded by Dr. Markus Honold, Group Manager Procurement SGB-SMIT Group.
Days 2 and 3 were reserved for individual appointments and negotiations as well as for an attractive framework program.
Target reached: The Supplier Days communicated the positive message of growth through strategic partnerships. The Supplier Days yielded us further competitive advantages: thus, e. g. payment terms were improved and breakthroughs achieved in important negotiations.
... here exemplary statements from two participants:
“All the suppliers whom I have talked to (over 30 persons) told me that this had been one of the best Supplier Days - or even the best - which they had attended till now.”
“The rest of the industry and our competitors are tending to develop in a more negative direction. Only at the SGB-SMIT Group has the trend been a steep upwards development.”
