How do you recognize that a team works particularly well together? Of course, by the fact that the employees get along well even when they leave the factory gate after work. For this reason, we in the SGB-SMIT Group expressly welcome employees meeting in their free time - especially when it is a sporting event. Such as the ski trip of a number of colleagues at SGB Regensburg last winter.
For a well-rehearsed team such as the 38 "SGB employees" from all areas of administration and production in both Regensburg divisions (power and cast resin transformers), it was an easy challenge to master: When the decision was made to take the bus to the Austrian ski resort of Scheffau for skiing, the joint tour was routinely implemented as teamwork. Whether it was planning, organizing the day tickets, catering (including improvised champagne breakfast), bus rental or financing: for everything that goes with such an excursion, one of the employees was happy to put their skills and knowledge to good use. The highlight of the cross-divisional and cross-departmental distribution of tasks: One of the initiators even has a bus driver's license! Many thanks at this point to Eugen Ehrl, who willingly and responsibly supported the team here. So, it could start early on a winter morning. At 5.00 a.m., before dawn, the group started from the SGB car park, and after another stop in Bad Abbach, they headed for the Alps.
What else was missing for a successful project? The right weather - and the weather god decided to reward the commitment of our colleagues with real dream weather. So, it was an all-round successful day of skiing, which of course ended with a hearty stop for après-ski before heading back towards Regensburg at around 5 pm.
Events like this, which were set up on one's own initiative, show: "Better together" is a motto that does not only apply to our daily work. And collegiality, enthusiasm and fun together are important sources of quality for the SGB-SMIT Group.
So, it is only logical that the ski-enthusiastic colleagues are going to Scheffau again this winter: On February 22nd they will start very early again, and of course Eugen Ehrl will be driving the bus again. Good skiing to Regensburg!
