The manufacture and sales of transformers not only demand a lot of technical understanding and specialist knowledge but also technical skill and practical experience. That is why businesses in the SBG-SMIT group have been training young people now for more than 100 years. Many career paths in production, technology and in the business sector remain open for our competent skilled employees. Many former apprentices still assist today in responsible positions and also manage the skills of our company.
In vocational training we are mindful of a balanced mix of theory and practice. Comprehensive practical knowledge and qualities are conveyed alongside theoretical principles. There are operational learning modules in which theory is assessed and enlarged upon afterwards as well as assignments in different departments. The training programme is topped off with welcome and action days, exchange programmes with other companies, excursions and information trips. Equally very popular are our regular information days for parents and other family members.
Our apprentices are supported with travel allowances, work clothing and-of most importance to young people-a reasonably priced lunchtime works canteen.
